When was Jackson County, AL Created?
Jackson County was created on Dec. 13, 1819, from land acquired from the Cherokee Cession of 1819. This particular county was named in honor of Andrew Jackson (1767–1845), 7th U.S. President. You can read a summary narrative history of the county inThe Encyclopedia of Alabama.
